Farm in Stellenbosch uses the Eskom grid as Back-Up

The farm is known for its picturesque views, delicious food, and great service. However, like many areas in South Africa, the farm has been affected by load-shedding and power outages. This has made it difficult for the farm to provide a reliable and consistent service to its customers.

To address this issue, Micasa Energy Solutions, leading engineering, and procurement company in South Africa, was brought on board to provide a sustainable energy solution for the farm. Together with equipment supplier Herholdts Group, Micasa Energy Solutions implemented a solar project that included a 150kWp PV system, ATESS inverters 150kVA and an 800kWh Solar MD HV battery. The system is controlled by Solar MD's EMSAi, which provides real-time monitoring and control of the energy flows.

The solar project has been a great success for Mon Rêve Estate. The PV system and battery storage provide the farm with a reliable source of power, and the grid connection allows them to import some of the energy from the grid. The load-shedding protection feature ensures a continuous power supply to the farm, providing additional security and reliability. The system also provided significant cost savings for the farm by reducing their reliance on grid-supplied electricity.

In addition to providing a reliable source of power, the solar project has also helped to reduce the farm's carbon footprint. This is in line with the farm's commitment to sustainability, which includes recycling and composting programs, as well as water conservation efforts.

Overall, the solar project at Mon Rêve Estate has been a great success
